Is DevWPM completely free?

Yes, DevWPM is 100% free. We display ads to cover hosting and development costs. No account required, no premium tier.

How is my WPM calculated?

WPM is calculated as the number of correctly typed characters divided by 5 (standard word length), divided by the time elapsed in minutes. Only correct keystrokes count.

Why does my practice progress reset?

Practice data is stored in your browser's local storage. If you clear your browser data or use a different browser/device, progress will reset. We're working on optional account sync.

Can you add a new programming language?

Absolutely — send us a request at devwpmcontact@gmail.com with the language name and we'll prioritise it.

How do I report an incorrect code snippet?

Email us with the snippet that seems wrong and the language it's in. We review and update snippets regularly.
